Why hockey?
Hockey is the perfect after school class. It's fast, social and endlessly fun. Studies on youth sports support it: kids who play hockey are fitter, more coordinated, more confident and build stronger social connections.
A full-body sport
Skating builds balance, coordination, strength and cardiovascular fitness better than almost any other youth sport.
Confidence & resilience
Kids fall, get up and try again — again and again. Few activities teach perseverance like hockey.
Friends & teamwork
Every shift is shared. Players learn to communicate, trust teammates, and win and lose together.
Pure fun
Ask any hockey parent: the rink quickly becomes the place your child most wants to be.
Good for kids, on and off the ice
Top-tier cardio
A child on the ice is in near-constant motion — interval-style exercise that builds a strong heart and healthy habits for life.
Sharpens the mind
Reading the play at speed trains focus, anticipation and fast decision-making — skills that show up in the classroom too.
Everyone plays
Short shifts mean no bench-warming. Every child touches the puck, every game, all season.
For every kid
Big or small, boy or girl, first-timer or natural athlete — hockey has a role for every child and a community that welcomes them.
Where to find hockey in Israel
Youth hockey in Israel is played at four arenas across the country — OneIce (Tnuvot), Ice Planet (Ashdod), Ice Peaks (Holon) and Canada Center (Metula).

Penguin Sports starter kits
Penguin Sports seeks to lower the barrier of entry for new players by providing everything they need to get started from head to toe, at reduced prices.
Children aged 5–9 joining a hockey program for the first time receive 50% off a youth starter kit, subsidized by Penguin Sports.

Parent questions
Does my child need to know how to skate?
No. Every hockey player started exactly where your child is now. With properly fitted gear and encouragement, most kids are gliding confidently within weeks.
Is hockey safe for young children?
Youth hockey is played in full protective gear, and at the youngest ages the game is non-contact. The equipment guide above shows exactly how each piece protects your child.
What is the right age to start?
Ages 5–9 are ideal for falling in love with the ice — and graduates can continue into Kids (U10) club teams and IHFI league play.
